Currently based in Dallas, Burns Electronics works with clients across the United States and around the world, including startups, venture capitalists, and other product design firms. Projects range from quick circuit board turn-arounds to fractional CTO work.
Burns Electronics specializes in electromagnetism, radio and communications, and radars and beam steering. However, we have the expertise to turn pretty much any product idea into reality.
As a small product design firm, we have the flexibility to support unique needs and take on more challenging projects that other, larger firms may not. We understand that many of our clients are in early stages of growth, so we take this into account when structuring projects. Our goal is to see your product succeed, so your company can succeed.
As of January 2024, Burns Electronics has completed the mechanical and electrical hardware for an Antenna Pattern Cut unit. Custom control software is well underway, and we are looking at having two RF anechoic chambers spun up for testing by the end of the summer.
If you're looking to characterize antenna designs or push farther into making your RF product work, check out our contact page to reach out to us, and see how we can help you succeed.
Matt Burns started building electronics projects when he was 13 years old. After taking a summer electronics course, Matt was fascinated by the possibilities of electronics, and electronics design quickly became his passion and hobby. (Check out some of his projects on his personal site, Bunch-of-Electricals.com.)
Matt attended MIT and graduated in December 2018 with degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering. He moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to work as an RF design engineer with Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. Along the way, he honed the craft of electrical design through school and personal projects.
After working on some electronics design projects for friends, Matt saw an opportunity to use his experience in RF, radar, and antenna design to provide quick-turnaround, high-quality solutions. In 2022, he left his day job to start Burns Electronics, offering his expertise to companies that have electronics product ideas but need someone to help them make them reality.
